How to Make an Origami Poppy Flower

In this tutorial, you will learn to make a cute and beautiful origami poppy flower. It is also an easy origami project that kids would love to make because the process of making this flower is very easy to follow, you just need two pieces of paper. So let’s start the tutorial.

Supplies Needed

• Paper ( Red and Black)

Directions

Step One

You will need one square sheet of red paper of 4.5 inches and one black sheet of paper of 3 inches.

Step Two

Fold the red paper in half, then open it and fold in half again from the other side.

Step Three

Open, then fold your paper diagonally to form a triangle.

Step Four

Open the paper then flip it. After that fold it diagonally from the other side.

Step Five

Take the paper, hold the two corners (facing each other) and push them towards each other as showing below.

Now fold everything up as demonstrated below.

Step Six

Repeat exact same process with the black paper.

Step Seven

Now take the black paper and tuck it in the center of the red one as showing below. Make sure all slots are together.

Then fold it back.

Step Eight

Place the paper with the close end facing down, and open end facing up.

Step Nine

Take each of the bottom sides and fold them up towards the middle.

Flip and repeat on the other side as well.

Step Ten

Now fold it in a way that the top point meets the bottom point. Then open it up.

Step Eleven

Open the center and flatten out the sides.

Step Twelve 

Now slightly fold the red points towards the back so the flower does not look like a square. 

Step Thirteen

Then fold the tiny points of black paper backwards as well.
